Articulate created the Eco Fashion Challenge to increase sustainable practices in the fashion industry, by recognizing leaders in eco design with the intent of raising awareness and sowing seeds of sustainability within the fashion industry.

The winners of the CFDA Lexus Hybrid Living Eco Fashion Challenge--Monique Péan, Costello Tagliapietra and Maria Cornejo--were awarded $25,000 apiece at an event held at Skylight West in NY. Behnaz Sarafpour was the winner of the People’s Choice Award.

The Lexus Hybrid Living website profiles fifty of the most visionary leaders in sustainable luxury, with video interviews, photos and text, as well as live feeds from partners’ Facebook and Twitter pages. Social media links such as “Like” buttons and re-tweets facilitate cross-promotion between Lexus Hybrid Living and the partners.

Articulate created and to engage with the Lexus Hybrid Living eco community through updates, news and photos as well as live tweets from high-profile events such as the Environmental Media Awards and CFDA Eco Fashion Challenge.

The People’s Choice Award on the Lexus Hybrid Living website allowed visitors to view sustainable fashion galleries for CFDA Lexus Hybrid Living Eco Fashion Challenge finalists and vote for their favorite. For The People’s Choice Award on the Lexus Hybrid Living website, visitors were limited to voting once in any 24 hour period. Behnaz Sarafpour was the winner with 48% of the vote.

Result: From Nov 3 - Nov 17, there were over 7800 votes in the competition.

Fifty TEDsters entered their ideas for lessening our carbon footprint to win the Lexus Prize, a year’s lease of a Lexus HS 250h. The Lexus Prize winner, John Ravitch, VP Global Business Development at IDEO, pitched “One Dashboard for Life,” a single, consistent device that measures productivity and carbon output across all aspects of life. Videos of the Lexus Prize finalists and winner were promoted on Facebook, Twitter, YouTube and the Lexus Hybrid Living web page
